Every time a big celebrity-centered event, like the recent Grammy Awards, rolls around the corner, the Red Carpet seems to be just as important as the event itself. 3 LAURENCE XU
Laurence Xu was born in Shangdong, China and is now based in Paris. He is best known for the elaborate dress he designed for Fan Bingbing for the Festival de Cannes, one that made heads turn. Like Angel Chen, he is heavily influenced by both Eastern and Western cultures and blends the two into his craft. He understood the power of Westernization, but also wanted to bring back the traditional Chinese fashion that got lost as China becomes increasingly westernized.
